Hi John,
A few examples:

Responsive design, template APHELION: Responsive Design Controls: All YES
Settings LOGO SELECT Logo image OFF:
Results in Win10 Firefox: Logo text and Slogan text are displayed
Results in Android 11 Chrome: Logo text is „Aphelion“, no slogan, but only in portrait position, landscape nothing at all.

Responsive design, templates SKETCH: Responsive Design Controls: All YES
Settings LOGO SELECT Logo image OFF:
Results in Win10 Firefox: Logo text and Slogan text NOT displayed, not even Header
Results in Android 11 Chrome: Logo text is „Sketch“, no slogan

SKETCH, Logo select & styling:
Help frame says: „Logo can be positioned using the Logo Position Settings below.“
No such settings to be found.

Switched off all Social media symbols, (by the way: Why Google+ but no Instagram?): Android buttons are gone, in windows they remain.

Knowledge base is non specific and extremely brief, the few snapshots show obsolete Joomla back-end, and therefore obsolete backend menu-structures (e.g. „Select Extensions >> Extensions Manager option from the Extensions menu“). Just details. But annoying.

Bugs? My ignorance? Tried for days, different templates, different browsers.

Far more important: Is there a sketch or map that names and locates each part of the template and where to configure it?
Where is Position 1, 2, ... mentioned in Modules? Where exactly are the to-be-configured Template items/features located? A graphic, snapshot or map really would help.
Sorry to complain, but I searched all over the place and cannot find specific help.

You can only use Logo Text and Slogan text on non responsive devices.
On Mobile devices you must use an image. This is what you are seeing on Android. It is an image and not text. You upload your image for mobile in the RESPONSIVE DESIGN CONTROLS.

This is a mistake. Thanks for pointing this out. That text will be removed in next update as it is not a feature.

- When the template was built Google+ existed.

- If you want to edit add instagram then see the following.

- Social icons do not show on mobile as there is limited space. ( They automatically are not displayed regardless of them being on or off.

Far more important: Is there a sketch or map that names and locates each part of the template and where to configure it? You can put anything in any module position you want as you would with any Joomla template.

Hope this helps,
Thanks,
